Erdem Moralioglu , one of London Fashion Week's brightest stars, was the red carpet designer of choice on both sides of the Atlantic last night.
Designs by the Canadian-born designer, who's beautiful, floral dresses have made him a favourite with high profile figures such as Samantha Cameron and US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour , were seen on TV personality Louise Redknapp at the Pride of Britain Awards in London, and also on American actress Lea Michele, who was attending an awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
In addition, earlier that morning, Scottish actress Karen Gillan, better known as Amy Pond in the BBC series Dr Who , chose a shirt and skirt with a moody, abstract print from the Erdem autumn/winter 2010 collection to make an appearance of morning chat show Daybreak .
It's yet another boost for Moralioglu - who mainly works with printed silks and lace - that his sleek and often colourful pieces are being chosen over the frothy ball gowns which can dominate the red carpet. An impressive roll-call of stylish celebrities are increasingly turning to Erdem to make an impact, including US stars Jessica Biel, Michelle Williams, Julianne Moore and Sarah Jessica Parker, to name but a few.
